Rocky Harbour is located 71 km north of Deer Lake. It is the main service centre for Gros Morne National Park complete with gift shops, a swimming complex, water park, restaurants, a National Park visitor information centre, convenience stores, a bank, laundromat, pharmacy and a hospital nearby.

A Newfoundland and Labrador vacation is only a few hours away by commercial airline. Deer Lake Airport is just a 30 minute drive from the entrance to Gros Morne National Park. Air Canada, Air Transat, Royal Airlines, Air Alliance, Air Labrador, Air Nova, Interprovincial, Canjet and Canada 3000 provide travel to Newfoundland from most major centres in North America and Northern Europe. The closest airport to Gros Morne is the Deer Lake Airport, just 71 km away.

A touring holiday by motor coach, car, bus or motorhome is just as convenient. Marine Atlantic operates ferries all year round from North Sydney, Nova Scotia, to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland. Throughout the summer, a second ferry from North Sydney to Argentia is added to accommodate visitors to the eastern part of the island.

Labrador is accessible by ferry from St. Barbe and Lewisporte, Newfoundland.
